A How to Guide on measuring your Hat Size

Follow these super easy simple steps:

Step 1: Measure Your Head

You can either use a cloth tape measure or a long string and a retractable tape measure. Have someone hold the tape or string.  It makes the process easier but you can do it on your own.

Place the tape or string around your head about 1/8” above the top of the ears and across the mid-forehead (usually about half an inch above the eyebrows) so that you completely circle your head.

  • Be sure to hold the tape or string firmly but not too tightly. This is not tourniquet tight. Leave some wiggle room as tight fitting hats can cause headaches.
  • Hold your forefinger against the tape measure or string where it comes around to meet the end. Check the measurement of the tape and write it down in inches.
  • If you’re using a string, place a mark on it, then lay it out flat alongside the measuring tape and write down the inches.
  • Follow the general rule – “measure twice, cut once.” Or in this instance, I make the hat once.  If for some reason you measure incorrectly and you need to return it for a new size, charges will apply to re-make the hat including additional shipping costs.

Step 2: Calculate Your Hat Size

  • Most of my hats have specific sizes while others are Small, Medium, Large or XLarge. Once you’ve measured the circumference of your head, correspond the measurement to the hat sizing chart. Should you fall between sizes, choose the next largest size.

A How to Guide on Measuring your Wrist Size

Here is an example of a wrist measurement

Follow these simple steps in measuring your wrist for a perfect fitting bracelet.

STEP 1:  Measure Your Wrist

You can either use a cloth tape measure or a long string and a retractable tape measure.

  • Place the tape or string around your wrist just ABOVE the wrist bone. This is where you will wear the bracelet. Not too loose and definitely not too tight.
  • Hold your forefinger against the tape measure or string where it comes around to meet the end. Check the measurement of the tape and write it down in inches.
  • If you’re using a string, place a mark on it, then lay it out flat alongside the measuring tape and write down the inches.
  • Follow the general rule – “measure twice, cut once.” Or in this instance, I make the bracelet once.  If for some reason you measure incorrectly and you need to return it for a new size, charges will apply to re-make the bracelet including additional shipping costs.

STEP 2: Select the Inches in the Drop Down Box

  • Sized bracelets have a drop down box on the listing. Select your wrist measurement in this box.

Your jewelry should be the very last thing that you put on – after the hair spray and perfume. And your jewelry should be the first thing you take off.

Clean it with a jeweler’s polishing cloth or a soft cloth based upon the material. Store in a Ziploc protective bag. Although tempting, it is not recommended that you expose your jewelry to the shower, bathtub, swimming pool, lake or ocean.

Hats should never be set down on their brim. This will cause them to turn up. Instead, place the hat upside down on the crown. When storing your hat, you can place it in a hat holder, on a roll of paper towel or even a coffee can. Just remember to keep the brim elevate.

How To Clean Your Felt Hat: To prolong your hat’s life, regular brushing is important. To remove loose dirt, simply use a hat brush and swipe it away. Avoid using a brush made of nylon as it may be too abrasive and damage the hat. To remove dust from the hat, simply use a damp (not wet) cloth. To remove fuzz and hair, use a piece of sticky tape to gently wipe the hat.

How To Clean Sweat Stains And Dirt From Your Palm Hat: For easy stains, you can brush out the stain, or use corn starch or talc powder to dry it. For harder stains, clean with a damp cloth. For the hardest stains, a mixture of water and hydrogen peroxide can be carefully applied.
